My Giraffe and Blooming Flowers

About Me

I am Chloe. I am a ballet dancer in body and soul. I love art and life’s vibrancies. I enjoy, as almost a food for the eye, the art of Frida Kahlo, Georgia O’Keefe, Jean Michel Basquiat, and Nick Bantock’s postcards in the Griffin and Sabine series. Although not the snappiest reader, I am in love with books, and I am currently buried in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Maya Angelou’s autobiography, Gather Together in my Name. Both books depict times of despair, yet a strengthening in connections with others, connections that make the person whole again.
I must say I have a guilty pleasure. I love to watch the television show “Buffy the Vampire Slayer.” It is filled with vampires, demons, and dangerous women! My favorite characters are Spike, (the once murderous, blood thirsty vampire that now loves Buffy), Willow the witch, Ania the thousand year old ex. demon, dating funny and clumsy Zander, Giles, the quirky librarian/magic store owner, and of course, independent Buffy.  Perhaps I am a little too crazy about this show.
I am not very updated with the new music, but I am now into French and blues music. I enjoy Edith Piaf, Madeline Peyroux, and Carla Bruni. I love the way the French words roll off my tongue and become tasty, like ruby red tomatoes.

I believe in the power of art and expression, I am glad to express myself on my page, “My Giraffe and Blooming Flowers.”
